Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

The online world is becoming increasingly dangerous, and the number of website hacks is growing rapidly. Cybercriminals are looking for weak points in security to gain login details and use them for criminal purposes. That's why it's so important to protect your data - using strong passwords, as well as implementing additional security measures such as two-factor authentication, or 2FA. Remember, online security is a priority these days. At Altumhost, we help secure your websites every step of the way.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security measure that enhances access control to accounts and systems by requiring two distinct authentication factors. Typically, the first factor is a password or PIN, while the second is something uniquely possessed by the user, such as a one-time code generated by a mobile app, a physical security token, or a biometric fingerprint. 2FA significantly strengthens security. Even if a password is compromised, unauthorized access is prevented without the second factor, providing robust protection against hacking and data breaches.

We offer two-factor authentication (2FA) for the following services:

2FA for Email Accounts

To ensure the security of your email communications, we've implemented 2FA in our Webmail application, adding an extra layer of protection to your email account. You can easily enable 2FA through your account settings. Once activated, logging into Webmail will require both your password and a second factor, such as a time-sensitive code generated by an authenticator app like Google Authenticator on your smartphone. This code is required for each login.

With 2FA, even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your email without the additional security code. This simple yet highly effective solution significantly enhances your email account's security.

2FA for cPanel

Two-factor authentication for cPanel provides an additional layer of security, safeguarding access to your hosting control panel. 2FA effectively prevents unauthorized access attempts to cPanel, thereby strengthening the security of data stored on your server.

2FA for the Customer Panel

Upon logging into your client panel, you will be prompted for a verification code. 2FA ensures your account remains secure.
